Orchida Knitting System
Orchida Knitting System makes fabric designs for Universal Knitting machines (6 series and 7 series) in an easy way.
Open Lists windows as well as drawing window in the same time
See your fabric naturally before sending it to machine
No need for box cassette any more, as Orchida Knitting System connects to the machine directly
Browser for your designs, to find your design easily
Works on WIN XP, Win 2k, Millennium, Win9x.
Prepare your drawing
1- Open any graphics
file/clip Art (BMP, WMF, JPG, GIF…).
2- Decrease colors number, convert to machine colors, resize, rotate …
3- Use drawing tools (free hand, lines rectangle, fill, fill with pattern….)
1- In drawing window, select the rectangle you want to apply over fixed program.
2- Orchida Knitting System will detect no. of colors in the selected rectangle.
3- Choose a type of program you want (striped jacquard, tabular jacquard, links …).
4- Press OK and make graphic test.
Import Module from library
-from S1 to S3: Waist Rib
-from S4 to S7: 4-color jacquard stripe
Then we add a stripe from library called “my cable”
Now we have
-from S8-S10: an another stripe called “my cable”
You can add complete modules from library
1- Press ‘import button’.
2- Select the module you want (e.g. my cable) from the list.
3- Set X, Y positions where the module drawing will be added, and offset will be used to set position of yarn carriers, click OK.
4- Orchida Knitting System will set the rack ,and will reposition yarn carriers (if needed to) before and after the imported module.
5- Orchida Knitting System also will find spaces for all program items (S,Z,N …), will redirect links to the new positions, and will redirect Z references to the pattern where it was inserted (like it was set by the user).
6- You also can export any part of any program you have to the library, simply from Scheme cycle window (S), press ‘export button’ then set start S and end S ,click OK.
1- Writing Z cycles.
a- You open Z window. You will find it so familiar, as its structure looks like Machine Carriage and its symbols.
b- You can copy some Z items (even from another program), and paste them (normal or mirrored)
c- Also you can drag some Z items, then drops them over another one. (Also you can drops them mirrored if you drags with ALT)
d- The hint gives you a brief explanation for the function of the part you stops over, also if this part is a link to another program part (like stitch length FS) the content of the linked part will be viewed in the hint

1- After you finish your program you start program test. It will shows the errors in a list box. To fixe the error you just double click over it, the part who caused the error will emerge in a new window where you can edit it
2- Repeat that for all the errors
3- Press start again to repeat the test, and so on
Finally you will need to make Graphic test, and debug your program step by step
There are many color representations
1- Normal stitch representation: shows fabric naturally
3- Jacquard representation: shows only knit actions (transfer actions is ignored)
2- Normal color representation: shows fabric but in colors (each stitch is represented by a colored pixel, transferred stitches takes special colors)
4- Transfer representation: shows only transfer actions (knit actions is ignored)
You can also change threads colors, execute system by system, Z by Z, continue till specific Z or S, continue till stop it.
